Ingredients:
- Plantain – 1
- Besan Flour – 1 cup
- Red Chilli Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Azwan – ¼ teaspoon
- Rice Flour – 2 Tablespoons
- Baking Soda – 1 big pinch
- Oil – To deep fry
- Salt to taste.
Method:
- Take the skin off the plantain and cut into long slices.
- In a bowl put the Besan, rice flour, salt, baking soda, red chillie powder and coarsely ground azwan powder and mix it well. Add water as needed to make thick batter and keep it aside.
- Take oil in a heavy bottom pan and bring it to heat. Now dip the plantain slice in the batter and slip that into hot oil slowly. Repeat this for as many as you can fill in the pan and fry them till they look golder brown.
- Once they are done, take them out with slotted spoon and put them on paper towel so that all the excess oil can be drained.
Serve this hot and have fun.
Also you can follow the same procedure in making Potato Bajjis by replacing Plantain with potato in the above ingredients. Rest is the same.
