About me
Hello Everyone, I am Shaki, married to a lovely person Kaleesha. We have been living in Franklin TN for last 10 years.
I grew up in a big family, where FOOD is the important part of the life. My Mom used to cook lots of varieties to satisfy all my 5 brothers.
I used to sit and watch my Mom’s cooking but, I was never interested in cooking or eating.
When I got married 13 years ago, I thought by knowing how to make ‘DALL’ and ‘Potato Fry’ is enough.
I was lucky that my Husband is not demanding. He is not picky either.
That gave me opportunity to try something new and When ever I tried anything new, I always got the appreciation from him.
But some how 10 years ago I started growing love towards preparing food.
That is when I started calling my Mom for recipes and perfecting them as I make them.
My Husband and friends started liking my food. Friends started asking me for the recipes.
That is when I started my personal cooking Journal. This website is the result of my 10 years of effort.
Now cooking is my passion. I have great respect for food.
The recipes on this website are the ones I made for My family and also shared with friends.
I hope you find as much satisfaction from the recipes as I do. I really appreciate your feedback.
If you can’t find a particular ingredient or don’t like it, don’t worry about it. Try the recipe with out that ingredient. May be you will come up with a dish even better than mine. Cooking is all about flexibility.
I strongly believe, when you respect food and take time to make it, the outcome is delicious. Mark my word on this.
Enjoy cooking….

Dear friends,
I have known Shaki from many years and personally loved her food. All her recipes are great. She is the queen of desserts as far as I know.
Very happy to see her start this blog. Wishing her good luck and hoping to see more recipes from her. I would like to get Sheerkurma recipe from her here.
Regards,
Sunitha.

Shaki, thank you very much for your dedication to help others learn more about Indian cuisine. My husband and I are adopting a child from India, and I have been trying as many new recipes as I can to help our child transition to this country. Food is so vital to our health and wellness, and it provides a sense of comfort and encouragement when there is a major life transition. Hopefully your recipes will bring a comfort and familiarity to our child and family.
With great thankfulness,
Betsy Jones

Your recipes seems very good and I myself am a fan of cooking and time to time Shilpa (my wife) let me into the kitchen so that I can experiment. 🙂 Excellent presentation (photos, web page lay out and design).
